One Year at Vercel

text

July 1st marked my one-year anniversary with the triangle-company ▲Vercel.

I took this opportunity to start (again) my own, personal blog. This will be the home for personal life-updates as well as some technical content, hopefully.

... but back to the Story:

Back in early 2022 I came across a job opening on vercel.com. I knew Vercel from ZEIT days and have been an more or less active user for a few years already. I can't remember where I saw the job posting, but anyways, it gained my attention and I decided to apply.

Applying for a fully remote position when you only have worked for in-office companies (we all know that Virus that changed some minds - but believe me: not German managers'!) is a tough decision, but I was sure this is exactly what I want to do.

And so the story began: after a few interviews (recruiting, hiring manager, team) I was offered the position and I immediately - without even thinking about it - accepted it. July 1st 2022 was my first day working as a Senior Customer Success Engineer.

This was the best decision I made in a long time.

During this year, so many new products and features have been released and the company has grown even more. The pace these features are released ("iteration velocity") is incredible, and coming from German Mittelstand companies, this is simply unbelievable. Vercel has become the de-facto standard and global leader for the Frontend Cloud, and I am thrilled to be part of this journey.

Thanks to my Manager, to my colleagues, teammates, friends and simply to everyone at Vercel making this company a place you really want to work.

I am grateful for all the things I've learned, experienced and produced within my first year at Vercel - here's to the next!
